There is so much livestock, wool, yarn & southern food here, it's amazing. " The festival is a great coming together of rural America. " Lots of animals to pet, sheepdog trials to watch, music, fairground food, shearing demonstrations, storytelling, wool spinning demos - fascinating, and it's outdoors, so the kids can be as loud as they want. For the best food, go in the 4-H building and either purchase a BBQ sandwich or a leg of lamb sandwich. " There's plenty of fair food to be had there, not to mention some tasty lamb from a few vendors. There are hundreds of vendors from all over the country selling incredible textiles, yarns, antiques & hand crafted items. " I always go here to stock up on roving for spinning & the wool yarn I use to weave. And my husband loves the food - especially the typical fair food and the lamb burgers! " Heather C.
" I am a knitter, so I love seeing the variety of yarns for sale! My son loves seeing the sheep and goats. It’s like you can see heaven through their eyes. What I enjoyed the most is seeing the smile of satisfaction of people as they admire their newly acquired item. It’s just amazing how creativity flows in everywhere I look. " This was paradise for me! My eyes feast on every booth that I walked through. Last year's rainy weather left us with boxes and boxes of unsold merchandise, and we didn't want a repeat this year if mother nature was feeling uncooperative. However, as we are not soothsayers, we could not predict the absolutely outstanding weather that brought out even more folks. FYI - In anticipation of bigger crowds for the 50th anniversary, we did order more merchandise than usual this year. To avoid having leftover stock, this would probably be done on a pre-order basis, i.e, there would be a limited window of time to place your order, then we would have just enough shirts printed to fill those orders. The shirts are a ComfortWash by Hanes garment-dyed t-shirts in 5.5 ounce, 100% ring-spun cotton and standard unisex sizing, sizes S to 3X. These second printing items are limited to the large boat tote bag and a short-sleeve t-shirt in Moss green. The delivery time will run 2-4 weeks from that point.
